When you reach the Documents page, you must attach any files you wish to include with your application, regardless of whether they were selected from USAJOBS or uploaded from your computer.
Only the documents that are selected and displayed in the Available Documents section on this page will be sent with your application and accessible to the Hiring Agency.
Important Notes About This Page:
Adding Documents Not Listed in the Drop-Down:
- Resumes cannot be uploaded using these instructions. To add or update a resume, return to USAJOBS and make any necessary changes there.
- If the document you want to submit is not listed in the Available Documents drop-down, you will need to upload it.
- For step-by-step guidance, see: Uploading Documents to Your Application.
- After uploading, you must still attach the document as described above so it is included with your application.
- Uploaded documents are not saved to your USAJOBS account.
Accepted Document Types:
- The list of Accepted Documents is determined by the hiring agency.
- If the exact document type is not listed, attach your file under the most appropriate type available.
- If you are unsure which category to use, contact the hiring agency listed at the bottom of the Job Announcement.
Required Documents Based on Eligibility:
- Some documents may be marked as required based on your responses in the Eligibilities section of your application.
- If you do not have one or more of these required documents, review your answers to confirm they are accurate.
To attach documents to your application:
- Select the Documents link to go to the Documents page if you are not already there.
- Select the Available Documents drop-down list and select the appropriate document to attach to your application (documents displayed are those that you selected from your USAJOBS account for this application or uploaded on this page).
- Once the document is added it will display in Available Documents.
- Repeat until all documents are showing in Available Documents. You can add multiple documents under one document type by selecting the drop-down list and choosing the additional documents. Once you have added all of your documents (both USAJOBS and Uploaded), selecting Continue.
- If you fail to assign documents, you will receive an alert identifying the unassigned document(s). Select Cancel to return and assign the document(s).
- If you fail to attach a document marked as required, you will receive an alert Identifying the required document.
- Select Continue to attach the document or review your eligibility responses and modify if necessary.
